Robert VilliardFounderFor Bob, starting GoodShip in 1994 was an adventure that he continues to find both challenging and rewarding.
Bob’s career started more than forty years ago with Harper Robinson & Company in 1974. After becoming a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1976, Bob became a Licensed Customs Broker and Branch Manager in 1977.
He was promoted again to Regional Manager in 1981, before moving to Kintetsu International where he served as Branch Manager and then Director.
After starting Goodship in 1994, Bob was elected as a Director of Chicago Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association in 1996. With his son, Ryan, and son-in-law, Rick, he continues to grow GoodShip by strengthening our client relationships and sharing his deep industry knowledge with both staff and clients alike.
Outside of the office, Bob enjoys running the occasional marathon and spending time with his six children and eleven grandchildren.
Ryan VilliardPresidentRyan has served as Goodship’s President since 2015, having joined the company in 2009 and becoming a licensed Customs Broker in 2011.
After earning an MBA in Accounting and Information Systems from Indiana University, Ryan began his career in Risk Consulting at Arthur Andersen. Following his time at Andersen he served as an Internal Auditor at Baxter Healthcare, a Manager of Risk Consulting at Protiviti, then as a Manager at BDO Seidman, LLP until 2008.
Ryan’s extensive experience with regulatory compliance and risk mitigation enables him to develop unique, customized solutions that benefit Goodship’s diverse client base.
As a former officer in the US Army Reserves, Ryan brings attention to detail, a disciplined leadership approach, and a strong commitment to serve.
Richard BachCEORick joined Goodship in 2006, building Goodship’s forwarding department from the ground up.
Through his previous work at Interlake Material Handling, Rick developed a keen understanding of the unique needs and concerns of importers, experiencing life firsthand on the client-side of international trade. This experience helped Rick gain insight in identifying and preventing the many pitfalls associated with shipping internationally.
Prior to joining Interlake, Rick earned his BS in Math and Computer Sciences from Augustana
College in 2002.
